<p>A paper mill has a dewatering press with nip gaps formed by a central drum (2), first (3) and a second (4) press drum. The second press drum has an extended gap. The fiber web passes through both press gaps sandwiched between dewatering belts (5, 6). The main central drum (2) and first press drum (3) incorporates a weight-sag correction system. The first press drum (3) is a suction drum (3). The second press drum (4) has a flexible mantle incorporating a hydraulic concave press shoe (11). The upper dewatering belt (5) lifts the web (1) from the preceding former. The web emerges from the second gap sandwiched between two dewatering belts (5, 6). After separation from the upper dewatering belt (5) the lower dewatering belt (6) transfers the web to a drying station.</p> |
