PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a hot dip metal plated steel strip by which, in hot dip metal plating where a steel strip is threaded via a sink roll arranged at the inside of a hot dip metal plating bath and a support roll on the downstream side, the vibration of the support roll in the plating bath is suppressed, thus uniformity of the coating weight of plating can be secured, and to provide a hot dip plating device. SOLUTION: A press load is applied to a roll shaft 5 fixed to both the sides of a roll barrel part in a support roll 3a, the level and direction of the press load are, on the basis of the lowest tension of a steel strip tension when the press load is not applied and the position of the support roll at this time, controlled so that the same stably remains at the position, thus the vibration of the support roll is suppressed. The roll shaft press means 22 is composed of: a press rod 23 capable of adjusting directions; a roll shaft press pad 16 fitted to one end of the rod; and thrusting means (such as a spring, a cylinder and a counter weight) capable of applying thrusting force to the other end of the rod in a controllable manner.
