PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter apparatus capable of improving sealability between a filter retaining portion 10 of a housing 2 and a filter frame 52 of a filter 9. SOLUTION: In the filter apparatus, the filter 9 to be incorporated inside the housing 2 of an electromagnetic valve has a curved surface shape in cross section in which the filter 9 is curved in a vertical direction relative to a linear direction parallel to upper and lower sides of the filter frame 52 and is curved in a convex shape on an upstream side in a fluid flow direction, and a first and a second fitting grooves 63, 64 in linear shapes for slidably inserting and fitting right and left sides of the filter frame 52 of the filter 9 therein are disposed on a surface facing to a recessed portion 59 of the housing 2 of the electromagnetic valve, particularly a valve case 3, whereby a load (force) is applied in the direction in which the right and left sides of the filter frame 52 of the filter 9 are pressed against bottom surfaces of a pair of the first and second fitting grooves 63, 64 by fluid pressure, so that the right and left sides of the filter frame 52 of the filter 9 are more tightly adhered to the bottom surfaces of the pair of the first and second fitting grooves 63, 64 to improve the sealability therebetween.
