A broadcasting program reservation record system and a method therefor are provided to allow a user to easily reserve and record a broadcasting program by only a simple button operation by transmitting simple EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information to a wireless transmitting and receiving device like a remote controller through information exchange with a set-top box without inconveniently turning on a TV to perform reservation record. A set-top box(103) stores broadcasting program information, and sets reservation record for a corresponding broadcasting program according to a reservation record request. A wireless transmitting and receiving device(105) receives the broadcasting program information from the set-top box(103), and outputs the received broadcasting program information through a display unit. The wireless transmitting and receiving device(105) generates a reservation record request signal including reservation record program information selected by a user, and transmits the reservation record request signal to the set-top box(103).
