PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid restricting a map display function as much as possible, even if there is a capacity limit of a corridor memory. SOLUTION: In a map display device of the invention which clips a part of map data from a map data input section and stores it in the corridor memory, and which has a corridor function for performing map display based on the clipped map data, when clipping the part of the map data, the map data corresponding to a surrounding region, which includes a predetermined position, for example, a current position of a vehicle, at a central part of the region, is clipped.
