PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wax-emulsion type antifoamer wherein by forming a stable emulsion particle, a break of emulsion particle due to high share of a fun pump, etc. does not generate when using the antifoamer after diluted and adding it into a process, an excellent defoaming effect for a colloidal air in a liquid can be obtained, a durability of this effect is also excellent, and also fouling in a system does not generate. SOLUTION: An antifoamer composition is based on an oil-in-water type emulsion in which an oil phase occupies 5-60 wt.% of an emulsion constitutional component, wherein the composition has an emulsion stabilizer consisting of a carboxylic acid soap which is obtained by neutralizing a resin due to copolymerizing of each one or more kinds selected from (a) a water-insoluble vinyl compound and (b) a water-soluble unsaturated carboxylic acid or/and its anhydride.
