A method and a system for searching the route in consideration of the direction of the destination are provided to let a user accurately approach the destination by searching an access route to the destination and to supply an optimal route to the user in consideration of the present road or traffic condition. A method for searching and providing the route to a user includes the steps of: searching the entire route from the starting place to the destination and providing the route to the user, wherein the route comprises a plurality of links(S201); judging whether the destination is located in the left or right side about the progressive direction of the vehicle, when the vehicle approaches the destination below a predetermined distance(S202,S203); choosing a line segment closest to the destination from plural line segments between interpolation points included in the link closest to the destination(S204); and searching an access route from the present position of the user to the destination and providing the access route to the user(S205). |
