Process for welding a ring gear with gear case

A method for welding a crown wheel (1) involves manufacturing a crown wheel which has a wheel flange (3) with flange surface (4), followed by hardening of the wheel and casting a balance housing (2) from a cast iron material. A balance housing flange is manufactured by rotational processing of the flange shoulder (6) and then joining the crown wheel (1) and the balancing housing (2), in which the crown wheel is pressed with its flange surface (4) against the flange shoulder (6). The crown wheel flange is then welded by the flange shoulder via a high energy beam.
