Contactless switch assembly

Each capacitive or inductive proximity switch (12,14,16,18) has an active surface (22) and an evaluation circuit for analyzing a time-dependent output signal of the corresponding proximity switch. Each proximity switch outputs a signal when approached by an object. An additional active surface (28) is provided outside the sphere of influence of objects. A supplementary signal output by the additional active surface is considered by the evaluation circuit in analyzing the proximity switch output signal. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle switch.
