The present invention is directed to use of (+)-alpha-(2,3-dimethoxyphenyl)-1-[2-(4-fluorophenyl)ethyl]-4-piperidinemethanol or its prodrug depicted as Formula II, wherein R is C_1-20alkyl, in treating patients for behavioral or psychological symptoms associated with Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body dementia or Parkinson's disease.
