摘要 A furnace for fabricating optical fiber preform is provided to produce the preform capable of extending durability of the furnace and heat generating device, reduce temperature of the heat generating device, and prevent oxidation thereof, by forming thin heat generating part in center of the heat generating device of the furnace and applying MCVD. The furnace comprises: a case(110) having inlet and outlet through which optical fiber preform tube is passed; a heat generating device(120) equipped in the case to enclose the optical fiber preform tube; and thin heat generating part(121) located in center of the heat generating device that has length ranging from 120 to 160mm. The heat generating device has temperature ranging from 2000 to 2200deg.C during vapor deposition or collapse process for the optical fiber preform. The furnace further includes: a heat-insulation part(130) between the heat generating device(120) and the case(110); a flow-path(140) penetrating the heat generating device and the heat-insulation part; muffle tubes(180) formed at the inlet and outlet of the case; and a covering part(190) enclosing the muffle tubes.
