METHOD FOR GENERATING COLOR HALFTONE SCREEN AND SYSTEM THEROF

A method and a device for designing a color halftone screen are provided to design the color halftone screen using relation between channels to remove patterns like a low frequency generated when the color halftone screen is designed in multi-channel. A mask operator performs a mask operation of each channel from a dot center determined to each channel. A candidate selector selects the specific number of candidates in small cost order by each channel based on a mask operation result. An overlay part overlays all dot center of each channel. An overlay cost calculator calculates an overlay cost from an overlay result by using an overlay filter. A final candidate selector selects the closest candidate to a position of the smallest overlay cost among the specific number of channel candidates. The mask operator independently performs the mask operation for each filter by using a space filter.
