The train has an exhaust gas recirculation circuit (20) with an exhaust gas recirculation valve (V1) controlling the recirculation of part of an exhaust gas towards an admission circuit. A cleaning circuit cleans a section of the circuit (20) and has an upstream section connecting an exhaust gas outlet and an inlet point (E), where the upstream section is controlled by another valve. The valves and a back pressure valve (24) circulate the gas in the cleaning circuit and evacuate the gas in an exhaust pipe (19).
