The procedure, in which the temperature of filtering partitions in the particle filter cavity is raised to 450-600 [deg]C to burn away accumulated soot, consists of generating a value representative of the filter blockage by remaining particles, determined by the pressure of gases circulating in the exhaust system after the first burn. When the measured value is above a preset threshold level (P 0), a second burn is carried out, raising the temperature (T reg2) to over 900[deg]C, resulting in the compaction of at least part of the residues not destroyed in the first burn. |
