PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device equipped with a camera module, the imaging device being capable of easily improving the frame rate of picked-up digital image data. SOLUTION: The imaging device 100 when converting an image picked up by the camera module 1 into digital image data and sending the data to a primary unit body 2 by a P/S conversion section 14 through serial communication according to a control designation from a CPU 21 converts a digital image output signal S12 during display at a display section 23 to less bits than a digital image output signal S11 during recording to a storage section 22 and outputs the signals.
