PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which is used for sealants, is transparent, can form thick films, and has excellent light resistance, and to provide an optical device. SOLUTION: This composition for sealants is characterized by comprising an organic silicon compound having a partially cleaved cage type silsesquioxane structure, a cyclic compound, such as a multifunctional vinylcycloalkane or a multifunctional cyclosiloxane, having functional groups capable of reacting with the organic silicon compound.
