<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that although position shifts of a left end and a left upper part of an image can be corrected through positioning correction of the image based upon its writing-out position, neither correction of a tilt of an optical system nor correction of magnification deviation due to deviation in optical path length can be made. <P>SOLUTION: The color image forming apparatus having image forming stations which form images of mutually different colors is provided with: a color shift quantity storage section 303 which store color shift quantities of images formed by the respective image stations while making them correspond to the respective image stations; a color shift correction quantity arithmetic section 307 which computes shift correction quantities for formed dots based upon the shift quantities stored in the color shift quantity storage section 303 and formed dot positions; and a color shift correction section 308 which corrects positions where the dots are formed based upon the computed shift correction quantities. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
