PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording and reproducing device capable of performing stable tracking control when a sub-beam is separately emitted to an unrecorded area and a recorded area of a recording medium and even when the sub-beam is emitted to a place with a flaw and stain. SOLUTION: A rotation position of an optical disk 1 is detected and the amplitude of a tracking error signal is corrected in synchronization with the rotation position. To correct the tracking error signal, an amplitude fluctuation of the tracking error signal is detected in synchronization with the rotation position of the disk, and the amplitude fluctuation of the tracking error signal is synchronized with the rotation position to be corrected so as to offset the amplitude fluctuation.
