<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system such as a surgical microscope which can show data to a doctor or others without using a costly and large-scale optical module, and makes operation procedures interrupted or hindered as far as possible. <P>SOLUTION: An optical system, such as a surgical microscope, has a stand having support arms, a microscope body, and displays.
