<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing nano-scale θ-phase alumina microparticles uniform in particle size and highly phase-pure. <P>SOLUTION: A powdery mixture comprising θ-phase alumina powders of, by weight, 30 to 95%, and boehmite of 5 to 70% to alumina is subjected to first heating treatment and second heat treatment in such a manner that heating temperature, heating time, heating rate, and cooling conditions are controlled, so as to perform phase transformation of two stages. Thus the θ-phase alumina microparticles uniform in particle size and high in phase purity, and having the particle size of 30 to 150 nm are produced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
