A portion of a hollow drive shaft (27) is enclosed by the rotor (26) of an electric motor (25). The drive shaft encloses a steering shaft (8), and is connected to the output shaft (12) of a steering gear (13) via planetary gear (20) and transmission entrance (35) of a gearing arrangement (10). The hollow drive shaft may also be structured to enclose partly the output shaft.
