<p>A mobile station allowing a user to use it without any troubles and capable of suppressing power consumption. The mobile station records a telephone call history including information for determining times, at which telephone calls were made; decides, based on the telephone call history, both a timing at which to change a period of monitoring a paging channel used for transmitting a message from a base station to the mobile station and a period, as changed, of monitoring a paging channel after the period change; notifies, when the decided timing at which to change the period has come, the base station of a slot cycle index indicative of the period as changed; and starts, at that timing, to monitor the paging channel in the period as changed.</p> |
