<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic separation method which enables a continuous treatment without requiring large power and to provide a water treatment method. <P>SOLUTION: Fluid passages 15-45 of a device 1, a collecting process of obtaining treated water of which magnetic materials are removed by making materials to be treated pass through a magnetic filters 19-49 and a regenerating process of removing the magnetic materials collected to the magnetic filters 19-49 from the magnetic filters by making a washing liquid fluidize at a higher flow rate than that of a liquid to be treated in the collecting process in the state of forming a magnetic field of the same magnetic flux density as that of the collecting process at a position of the magnetic filters 19-49 are carried out.
