PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element wherein a capping layer containing a triarylamine derivative and a carbazole derivative is provided to substantially enhance light extraction efficiency, a light emitting device equipped with this light emitting element, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This light emitting element 1 has a top emission type structure in which an anode 11 made of metal, a hole transport layer 12, a luminescent layer 13, an electron transport layer 14, a translucent cathode 15, and the capping layer 16 are laminated one by one on a glass substrate 10. Since it has the capping layer 16 having a refractive index higher than that of the translucent cathode 15, light extraction efficiency can be substantially enhanced. In addition, since the capping layer can be deposited at a temperature which is not very high, it gives no damage to the light emitting element. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
