PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical output device which can be downsized and simplified in structure. SOLUTION: The optical output device 10 comprises an optical fiber 11 with a flat end face 13 crossing at a predetermined angleθ1 to a main body axis line 12, a light emitting member 16 for irradiating an outer peripheral surface 14 of the optical fiber 11 with light 15, and a light receiving part 18 for monitoring the light 15 radiated to the optical fiber 11 from the light emitting member 16, and reflects the light 15 made incident from the outer peripheral surface 14 by the flat end face 13 to transmit it along the main body axis line 12 of the optical fiber 11. This optical output device 10 has a side end face 24 pallel to the main body axis line 12 and adjoining the flat end face 13 via an acute ridge line 22. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
