An air conditioner is provided to enhance appearance by removing an air suction port and an air discharge port from a front cover, and to decrease noise by optimally regulating suction flow and discharge flow in changing the air discharge direction and stabilizing flow of air. An air conditioner includes a cabinet(110) having a couple of vent holes faced to each other for selectively sucking and discharging air, a heat exchanger(120) placed between the vent holes and embedded in the cabinet, a couple of fan motor units(130A,130B) placed between the vent hole and the heat exchanger and embedded in the cabinet, air guides(151,152,161,162) installed in the cabinet to form an air passage around the vent holes and the fan motor units, and a driving unit varying the air guide. The vent holes are faced to each other and formed in upper and lower parts of the cabinet. |
