A light emitting display and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent voltage drop of a first power source and to thereby display uniform images by setting pixels in a non-emission state during a data write period. A light emitting display includes a scan driving unit for supplying a scan signal to scan lines(S1~Sn) in sequence during a first period of one frame(1F); a data driving unit for supplying a data signal(DS) to data lines(D) during the first period; an image display unit having plural pixels arranged to be connected to the scan and data lines; and an emission control line(E) connected with the pixels in common. The scan driving unit supplies an emission control signal to the emission control line to set the pixels in a non-emission state during the first period.
