PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake disk for rolling stocks, which brake disk has a small resistance of air in rotation and can secure a sufficient cooling performance of a sliding disk portion. SOLUTION: The cooling performance of the sliding disk portion 2 can be sufficiently secured as follows. A pair of the sliding disk portions 2 are connected by long ribs 3a and short ribs 3b which radially extend from the outer periphery of an annular shape portion 1 with alternately different lengths in the circumferential direction, and by a plurality of pins 4b, 4c provided between the long ribs 3a neighboring each other in the circumferential direction in order to reduce the resistance of the air in rotation by reducing the number of the long ribs 3a. In addition, the cooling ability of the pins 4b, 4c is improved by supplying the air, which is captured by the long ribs 3a and is delivered in the radially outward direction, to the pins 4b, 4c after straightening the air flow by means of the short ribs 3b arranged between the neighboring long ribs 3a. Thus, the deterioration of the cooling ability due to the reduction of the number of the long ribs 3a is compensated by improving the cooling ability of the pins 4b, 4c. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
