A backlight unit for an LCD is provided to obtain high brightness while preventing a thickness increases of an LCD module by forming lamps on third sides of a light guide. A support main(110) is formed on a cover bottom(140), and has a quadrangular frame shape having first to third slide grooves. First to third lamps(124a,124b,124c) are arranged in a longitudinal direction of the support main. First to third lamp guides(133a,133b,133c) guide the first to third lamps, and are inserted in the first to third slide grooves. A backlight unit(120) includes a reflective plate(122) formed in order on the support main and a light guide received on the reflective plate, and further includes a plurality of optical sheets received on the light guide. A liquid crystal panel is received on the backlight unit. A top cover(150) surrounds an edge of the liquid crystal panel, and is assembled and coupled to the support main and the cover bottom. |
