PRINTER, PRINTING METHOD, RECORDING MEDIUM, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a rendering processing in a network printing.

SOLUTION: A printer has: a means for connecting the printer to a network; an input means for inputting data for printing; a rendering means for developing inputted data into a print image and generating byte map data; a printer engine; a rasterizing means for converting the byte map generated by the rendering means into bit map data transferable to a printer engine; a means for receiving software to perform rendering from another device connected to the network when an object which the rendering means can not process in a printer having a printer engine; and a means for performing rendering with the received software. A printing method or the like for the printer is also provided.
