PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fluctuations in beam angle among individual lamps. SOLUTION: The reflector 4 of the lamp has an opening 2 in the front and a reflecting surface 3 of concave shape formed inside. In the reflector 4, an inner tube 5 of which the center axis in longitudinal direction is arranged so as to be positioned in the nearly same axis as the center axis in longitudinal direction of the reflector 4 and an arc tube 6 made of ceramic which is housed in this inner tube 5 and of which optical center is positioned nearly on the focus of the reflecting surface 3 are provided. At the end part on the opening 2 side out of the end parts of the inner tube, a flat plane part 9 of nearly flat plane shape having a nearly perpendicular relation with the center axis in longitudinal direction of the inner tube 5 is formed as a reference surface for defining the position of the inner tube 5 in the reflector 4. In the outside surface of the arc tube 6, a recess or a projection 24 which becomes a reference for defining the position of the arc tube 6 in the inner tube 5 is formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
