<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently maintain secondary transferability and fixing ability which have trade-off relation and to restrain the discharge of carrier liquid by keeping the proper amount of content of carrier liquid in a toner image which largely affects the secondary transferability and the fixing ability even when an image forming condition is varied. <P>SOLUTION: A system control part 65 controls to primarily transfer an image pattern for detection to an intermediate transfer roller 7, to apply charge, to recover the carrier liquid, to detect concentration before secondary transfer, to secondarily transfer the image to transfer material, to detect the density of a toner image remaining after the secondary transfer, to decide what state is obtained, a state A, a state B or a state C by using a charge amount variable part 66, to set a current applying part 41 so that a discharge current may be increased to attain the state B when the state A is obtained, not to change the discharge current when the state B is obtained, and to set the current applying part 41 so that the discharge current may be decreased to attain the state B when the state C is obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
