<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce creep torque as intended by a driver when creep torque is generated under predetermined driving conditions. <P>SOLUTION: When a manual transmission 4 is in its neutral position and a clutch 3 is engaged, a motor 10 for driving the rear wheels of a 4WD system, for example, is used to generate creep torque. The amount of operation of a brake pedal is detected using a brake sensor 21.
