PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the usability of an image processing system capable of inputting images form a plurality of systems. SOLUTION: The image processing system includes a main memory, an input unit which inputs images stored in an external recording medium to the main memory, an image management unit which generates a reference list of an image group stored in the external recording medium and an image group stored only in the main memory in the main memory and updates the reference list when the image group that the input unit can access are altered and when the image group stored only in the main memory is altered, a guide unit which guides the image group stored in the external storage medium and the image group stored only in the main memory according to the reference list, and a setting unit which receives a designation of selection of an image guided by the guide unit and sets the image corresponding to the designation of selection as an object to be processed.
