The plug connector ( 1 ) with at least one contact ( 9 ) that is fixable in a prefabricated housing ( 2 ) and that is fitted to the end of a ribbon cable ( 4 ) and is electrically contacted to it, the housing ( 2 ) being surrounded with an injection-molding plastic ( 5 ) in an area in which the ribbon cable ( 4 ) enters the housing ( 2 ), characterized in that a spacer ( 6 ) that can be inserted into the prefabricated housing ( 2 ) is provided that prevents intrusion of the injection-molding plastic ( 5 ) in a contact area of the at least one contact ( 9 ), the spacer ( 6 ) having at least one recess ( 7 and 8 ) that is fillable with the injection-molding plastic ( 5 ), and pressing the ribbon cable ( 4 ) against the inner surface of the housing ( 2 ).
