<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently input a text at high speed in a pen input computer. <P>SOLUTION: This text input device has a liquid crystal display panel 8, a ROM 2 which stores a plurality of words and plurality of text examples, a pressure-sensitive tablet 9 and an input pen 25 for performing input to a soft keyboard displayed on the liquid crystal panel 8, etc. and a CPU 1 which retrieves candidate words to be displayed on the liquid crystal display panel 8 from the ROM 2 based on input from the pressure-sensitive tablet 9 and the input pen 25 and inputs the text by selecting a desired word with the pressure-sensitive tablet 9 and the input pen 25.
