<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar cell which has a high open voltage while keeping a high short-circuit current. <P>SOLUTION: The solar cell is provided with a plurality of first conductivity type areas and a plurality of second conductivity type areas on a main face of one side of a first conductivity type semiconductor substrate. The plural first conductivity type areas and the plural second conductivity type areas are arranged in a scattered point shape. Total of areas of the second conductivity areas is wider than the total of the areas of the first conductivity type areas. It is favorable that the total of the areas of the second conductivity type areas is twice to three times as the total of the areas of the first conductivity type areas.
