摘要 <p>The method involves deriving a basis signal from the local time and normal frequency and modulating the basis signal with different PRN sequences and additional information on the transmitting platform (1). The modulated basis signal is then transmitted to a receiving platform (2) through an assigned channel. The receiving platform amplifies, demodulates and decodes the received basis signal with the use of predetermined formulas to extract the PRN sequences, additional information, messages, range information and distance information from the received basis signal. The basis signal is distributed through at least four channels for modulation with the PRN sequences and additional information such as the relative coordinates of the transmitting antennas with respect to a reference point and the absolute coordinates the transmitting platform in the area. The receiving platform is provided with a receiving antenna which is attached with respect to a reference point on the receiving platform. The transmitting and receiving antennas are optimally aligned following predetermined conditions during the transmission and reception of the basis signal. Independent claims are included for: (1) Platform position and location determining apparatus; (2) Use of the platform position and location determining apparatus; (3) Computer program containing the program codes for determining simultaneous relative position and location of a platform in an area with reference platform; and (4) Computer-readable recording medium storing the computer program.</p>
