FLAME RETARDANT COMPOSITION FOR CABLE COVERING MATERIAL AND OCEAN CABLE USING THE SAME

Provided are a flame retardant electric wire coating material composition which is excellent in oil resistance and cold resistance without the deterioration of mechanical properties and is minimized in the generation of a toxic gas in case of combustion, and a marine cable using the composition. The electric wire coating material composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a base resin which comprises 5-80 parts by weight of chlorosulfonated polyethylene, and 30-90 parts by weight of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer containing 28-80 wt% of vinyl acetate; 30-150 parts by weight of a metal hydroxide as a flame retardant; 0.5-10 parts by weight of a silane-based coupling agent; 0.5-8 parts by weight of a crosslinking auxiliary; 3-20 parts by weight of a crosslinking agent; and optionally 1-115 parts by weight of modified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer containing 28-50 wt% of vinyl acetate and having a polar group.
