<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that high color purity and brightness are conflicting factors in a conventional reflective color liquid crystal display device, wherein it becomes dark when the color purity is raised, and the color purity is decreased when it becomes bright, and the high color purity and the brightness are hardly realized concurrently. <P>SOLUTION: A signal wiring line group 106 also serving as pixel electrodes and a color filter group 102, 103, 104 are formed so as to be overlapped on a substrate. The width of the color filter of each color is the same as or narrower than that of the corresponding signal wiring line, and no light shield layer is provided between it and the adjacent color filter. Thus, the color purity is gained at the central part of the pixel electrode, and the amount of transmitted light is increased at the peripheral part of the pixel electrode of the color filter to increase the overall brightness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
