PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic fluid dispersion, containing a dye improved in durability to oxygen and light and dispersibility in a dispersion medium, a manufacturing method for the electrophoretic fluid dispersion in which the electrophoretic fluid dispersion can be manufactured, long-life microcapsules containing the electrophoretic fluid dispersion and an electrophoretic display device. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic fluid dispersion is prepared by dispersing (suspending) a capsulized dye 100 and at least one kind of electrophoretic particles, having different optical characteristics from the dye in the capsulized dye 100 in the dispersion medium. The capsulized dye 100 is obtained by coating, for example, a dye 1 having negative electric charges with an organic polymer 60, having repetitive structure units derived from polymerizable surface active agents 61 and 61' having polar groups having the opposite polarity from the electric charges 64 of the dye 1A, i.e. cationic groups 611 and 611', hydrophobic groups 612 and 612', and polymerizable groups 613 and 613'.
