PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamp device capable of widely coping with the alteration of a work. SOLUTION: This clamp device 1 clamps a work 2 removably to a pallet 3, and when a second pressing plate 28 is pushed down from an unclamped state in the drawing (a), the elastic force of a coiled spring 16 is applied to a clamp shaft 5 through a retainer15 and a first operating ball 14 to thereby push down a clamp arm 6 to enter a state (b). When a first pressing plate is further pushed down only in a short distance, the first operating ball 14 is moved to a part of a lock released part 13c of a sleeve 13. The second operating ball 24 is also located in a lock released part 20 of a clamp case 4 to enter a state (c). Thus, since the clamp shaft 5 has a release position where the first and second operating balls 14, 24 are not engaged, the clamp shaft 5 can be detached from the clamp case 4 in this release position to widely cope with the alteration of the work.
