PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and method for correcting blurring in image pickup.

SOLUTION: Data of an amount of discrete blurring is acquired. The data of the amount of blurring is interpolated at every line from the data of the amount of discrete blurring. The amount of blurring correction at every line is calculated from the amount of blurring prepared for each line. A reading position of pixel data is decided on the basis of the blurring correction. Pixel data are read on the basis of the decided reading position. When the pixel of the position that is to be read is the pixel across the two pixels, the pixel data of the pixel positioned in the position which is to be read is generated (interpolated) from plural pieces of pixel data. Thus, the influence of blurring is corrected. The image processor can be applied to video cameras.
