<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where transfer material is always stably brought into contact with an image carrier just before a transfer part. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: an intermediate transfer belt 12 on the surface of which a toner image is formed; a secondary transfer roller 26 arranged to be opposed to the curved part of the intermediate transfer belt 12 so as to form the transfer part 28 between the transfer roller 26 and the intermediate transfer belt 12, and transferring the toner image from the intermediate transfer belt 12 to the transfer material passing through the transfer part 28; and a pre-transfer guide 34 provided near the transfer part 28 on the upstream side in a paper passing direction and guiding the transfer material to bring into contact with the intermediate transfer belt 12 just before the transfer part 28. The pre-transfer guide 34 is provided to turn while keeping a fixed distance between the intermediate transfer belt 12 and the pre-transfer guide 34 within a predetermined turning range having the center of turning at the center of curvature 48 of the curved part of the intermediate transfer belt 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
