<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a weather strip capable of enhancing the easiness in executing the mounting operation to a great extent and stabilizing the workmanship of mounting to a higher degree while a drop of the productivity is precluded. <P>SOLUTION: The weather strip 4 is installed at a door opening peripheral edge on the body side corresponding to a vehicle door and is equipped with a trim part 5 held by a flange formed at the door opening peripheral edge and a hollow seal part 6 installed protruding from the trim part. The trim part 5 is equipped with an intra-vehicle side wall 11, an extra-vehicle side wall 12, and a coupling part 13 to couple together the these side walls 11 and 12. A variable holding lip 16 is formed rigidly on the inner surface of the intra-vehicle side wall 11.
