ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY AND THE SAME USING SECONDARY BATTERY

Provided are an electrode assembly and a secondary battery containing the electrode assembly which is prevented in the shortage of first and second electrode plates even if a separator is damaged or deformed by heat. The electrode assembly comprises the first and second electrode plates which are made of a metal material and comprise a part coated with an active material and a part uncoated with an active material; and a separator which is interposed between the first and second electrode plates to insulate electrically and is made of a material having a thermal deformation temperature of 150 deg.C or more. Preferably the separator is made of at least one selected from polyethylene, polypropylene and a copolymer of polyethylene and polypropylene.
