1383732 Aritiskid braking systems KELSEYHAYES CO 12 Jan 1973 [17 Jan 1972] 1854/73 Heading F2F An antiskid braking system comprises means for providing a signal of magnitude representative of the velocity of one wheel signal generating means providing a control signal having a magnitude which is a preselected proportion of the velocity signal, said signal generating means being responsive to the control signal attaining a predetermined time rate of change for causing the signal to decrease at a selected time rate of change less than the predetermined rate of change whereby the magnitude of the velocity signal and the control signal approach each other, a comparator for comparing the magnitudes of the velocity signal and the control signal and providing an output signal, when the velocity and control signals have attained a predetermined relationship, to cause the brakes to be released by modulating means. A sensor 28 supplies a signal, whose frequency varies with wheel angular velocity, to an integrator circuit 40 which provides an output signal whose amplitude varies with wheel speed. This signal is amplified by an amplifier 42 and transmitted to a clamp reference circuit 43, and thence to amplifiers 47, 49 the output B of amplifier 49 being a proportion of output A of amplifier 47. Signals A and B are fed to a comparator 44 whose output, amplified by an amplifier 54 controls the solenoid 58 of a modulating valve 24. Amplifier 49 is operated on a variable bleed and hold circuit 48 which generates the preprogrammed vehicle control ramp. When signal 6 exceeds signal A an output is generated to operate the valve 24 and relieve brake pressure. If there is failure of the control module 26 the battery of the power supply is connected directly to ground via a fuse which will blow to open the circuit and de-energize the module and permit normal braking. A failure warning light may also be included. |
