A recording apparatus is provided to allow a user to recognize a faulty attachment of a recoding member. In a recording apparatus, a carriage(100) to which a recording member is attached detachably is movable along a record sheet. A supporting stand(13) is provided to support and guide the recording member to the carriage when the carriage is stopped at an exchanging location where the recording member is attached to the carriage detachably.
