PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding method for a cycloolefinic resin used for the production of a molded product improved in its surface roughness caused by a gel, excellent in transparency and surface gloss and improved in sanitation properties, and a molded object manufactured thereby. SOLUTION: In a molding method for the cycloolefinic resin using a molding apparatus having a screw for melting, kneading and extruding the cycloolefinic resin, the screw has a supply part, a compression part and a metering part and the shearing speed in the metering part of the screw is set to 10 sec<SP>-1</SP>or more.
