An illumination optical system of an image projector is provided to design a structure of a light mixing optical lens to restrain lossy light by increasing the use efficiency of an illumination light emitted from a light source, thereby extending the life span of the illumination optical system of the image projector. A light mixing optical lens(300) condenses, radiates, or reflects lights emitted from an illumination optical system light source(L) of an image projector to mix the lights into a uniform light. A light emitting side of the light mixing optical lens has a square pillar type body(310). Edge part outer peripheral surfaces(311) of the body and wall surfaces(312) in four directions are formed in a curved surface having each curvature. A light entering side of the light mixing optical lens is formed to have incline optical planes(313,314) having lower parts gradually expanded from the wall surfaces of the square pillar type body of the light emitting side so that a light entering plane(301) is larger than a light emitting plane(302).
